My Lifeguards are the BEST!

These are just a few of my trustee lifeguards.  I think of them as my children.  They both drive me crazy and fill my life with happiness almost everyday.  This last week was Rodeo Week, every year there is a rodeo parade, and the Sheridan Rec District participates in the Bed Races.  We took 2nd place this year in the bed races and only had one mishap with a runner eating concrete in the first heat.  Thankfully she had little more injury than road rash and bruised pride.  I could not be more proud of them.

More American Than Kevin Costner!

Cousin Jessica and I had an all American Kind of Week,  We spent the weekend adventuring as usual, We traveled into South Dakota to see some amazing national parks, monuments and memorials. First We saw Crazy horse monument, which isn't complete yet, cost too much money to see, and all in all wasn't that exciting, but i'm glad i got to see it.
Then we traveled further into the Black Hills and went to Mt Rushmore.  This was hands down one of the coolest things that I have ever seen.  Around this time in our trip Jess and I decided that we should video diary the fun we were having.  But watching it back later it's a little embarrassing.

Then we headed for Sturgis, driving through Rapid City, SD.  We stopped at the target.  I was having withdrawls because there is only a Walmart here in Sheridan.  After Target, we got into Sturgis and we stopped at the harley shop and bought t-shirts. Gotta have the t-shirt.
Then we preceeded onto Deadwood, SD, home of a casino owned by Kevin Costner, the Midnight STAR.  Jessica and i tried to find mr costner because I'm sure we are destined to be together, but no luck, so maybe next time.

While In deadwood we visited the Mt Moriah Cemetery that is home to the resting place of Wild Bill and Calamity Jane.  Rumored to have been having a love affair, Calamilty Jane's dieing wish was to to burried next to wild bill.

We camped in deadwood for the night and then preceeded through spearfish canyon in the morning, where we saw roughlock falls and a film sight for Dances with Wolves.
And then as our trip neared its end and we traveled back into wyoming we found it only fitting that we should stop at Devils tower.  Such Beautiful Country we traveled through.  I'm so excited to have finally gotten to see so much of it, even if it was a short period of time.
